Are you a Compensation Professional looking for your next great opportunity? Look no further, as MRA's Compensation Professionals provide consultative, analytical, and best-practice guidance to over 4,000 MRA members throughout the country.

This highly consultative role supports many different organizations of size and industry by providing direction in annual compensation planning services such as market pricing, salary structure, pay equity analysis, sales and incentive plan design, and benefits benchmarking. In addition, Compensation Consultants may develop/deliver training and assist with building internal operational efficiencies and processes.

We currently have a need for a Full-Time Compensation Consultant; however, we are open to those who desire Part-Time and On-Demand opportunities working in a Hybrid position within our Compensation team.

Compensation Consultant, Position Expectations:

  • Cultivate Member relationships while demonstrating exceptional customer service and positioning MRA as a strong strategic partner
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and thorough intake and scoping for Member projects
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, timelines, and deadlines
  • Prepare, or assist in the preparation, of Member facing deliverables including analyses, reports, presentations, and training

Compensation Consultant, Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage compensation projects by facilitating member meetings and presentations, responding to member questions, managing workflow, and completing projects within budget and member expectations.
  2. Evaluate positions for market competitive salary based on the content of the job and various salary survey sources ensuring that all relevant factors have been addressed such as geographic differences, and age of data.
  3. Conduct the job evaluation process, analysis, and audits of new and revised positions to determine appropriate exemption status and grade level. Review all salary grade assignments to ensure equity across the compensation plan design.
  4. Under the direction of Compensation Directors, facilitate discussions on compensation philosophy with management and prepare plan proposal and design alternatives. In conjunction with member organizations, finalize plan design and prepare appropriate plan documents.
  5. Support, maintain, and develop member relationships by sourcing new members; partnering with sales and marketing to follow through on leads; developing and presenting proposals and contracts; educating members on MRA services, and referring members to other MRA business units.
  6. Additional support, including: Design, development, and delivery of compensation communication, presentations, and training materials (e.g., incentive plan documentation, publications, articles, FLSA compliance training) Research, review, and educate members on compensation practices and regulatory requirements and help ensure their compensation pay plans are in compliance with federal / state wage and hours laws.
  7. Evaluate current departmental processes and provide solutions/recommendations on how to gain efficiencies for the Compensation team. In partnership with MRA's Survey department, assist in the design and implementation of both scheduled and custom surveys.
  8. Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:  

Compensation Consultant, Minimum Qualifications/Additional Performance Criteria Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
  • 4+ years’ experience progressive compensation experience
  • Understanding of market pricing, benchmarking, surveys, and salary structures
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Strong client relationship and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and experience with compensation programs (salary structures, job evaluations, incentive design)
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law as well as current employment-related legislation
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Suite, and HRIS applications
  • Ability to prioritize work to complete all assignments in line with deadlines
  • Ability to organize and coordinate a large number of related and unrelated tasks and ensure that all are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Well-developed proofreading skills and precision with details
